|Carchelo C 2007 750ML
Bodegas Carchelo dates from the early 1980's and pioneering efforts
to modernize viticulture in what had been a backwater viticultural
region. Founding partner Juan Sierva's nearly 700 acres of prime
vineyards are widely distributed in the region, at widely varying
altitudes and exposures.
Inky ruby. Deeply pitched aromas of blackberry, cherry and plum. Sweet,
pungent and ripe, showing strong smoke, mocha, dark berry preserve and
herbal flavors on the palate. A supple, rich wine that betrays no
tannins or rough edges and finishes with good sappy length.
Decanter: A blend of Monastrell, Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon
displaying lively blackberries and spice. Rich and powerful on the
palate supported by freshness and elegance and some juicy black fruit
characters. A very enjoyable wine. *5 Stars - Top 10 Picnic Wines.
