Josh Cabernet Sauvignon 2006 750ML
sku: 13158
This handcrafted Cabernet Sauvignon hails from the Amber Knolls
Vineyard in the North Coast of California's "Red Hills" appellation. My
father's name was Joseph, as is mine, but his close friends just
called him "Josh". At the end of his workday, he, like many of his
friends would tinker around in the garage, laughing, telling stories
and working on an old car with spare parts, surprisingly, none that
were meant for the original vehicle.
After we're done producing our portfolio of Napa Valley wines,
we like to sit around "the garage", we call a wine cellar, and tinker
ourselves with a few things. Growers we call friends come by and we
laugh, tell stories and produce a wine that I fondly refer to as a "vin
de garage." Cabernet Sauvignon, complex in taste, but always unassuming
and approachable, with big bold flavors that have their own story to
tell. These "vin de garage" wines are a celebration of my friends, my
family and a man I called Dad.
Wine Style:
Forward complex blend with ripe fruit flavors; black current, spicy, berry fruit with gentle oak nuances.
Viniculture:
Handpicked at the peak of flavor development, crush and cold soaked for
24 hours, punched down three times a day to maximize flavor extraction.
Followed with a 10 - 15 day extended maceration. Barrel aging in new
American Oak and 1-2 year French Oak for 16 months.more

Kim Crawford Sauvignon Blanc Marlborough 750ML
sku: 8807
Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand is widely regarded as setting a
global standard for this variety. A combination of dry and moderate
climates gives near perfect cool climate growing conditions and assists
with the intense varietal characters unique to Marlborough.
Deriving from the French word sauvage ("wild") and blanc ("white")
Kim Crawford is a crisp and powerful, well balanced wine with intense aromas of
gooseberry, passion fruit and citrus flavors. This light to medium
bodied aromatic wine to match with salads, seafood and vegetarian
dishes and a perfectly acceptable quaffer!
Wine
Spectator: Fragrant and complex, with a refreshing burst of lime,
guava, grapefruit and grass flavors. Wet stone, passion fruit and
oyster shell accents add interest, with bright acidity highlighting the
vivid finish. Another outstanding Sauvignon from a perennial success.
Drink now. 175,000 cases made. -DS
Stephen Tanzer: Pale, bright color. Subtle aroma of licorice and
flowers. Lush, round and sweet, with moderate intensity and good
texture to its slightly herbaceous flavors. A fairly full, soft style.
Wine Enthusiast: This medium-bodied Sauvignon Blanc strums the right
chords, combining notes of crushed tomato leaf with citrusy fruit to
make a pretty melody. A hint of creaminess rounds out the midpalate,
and the wine finishes long, with pristine cleanliness. -J.C.
Tasting Notes:
Colour: Pale green.
Aroma: Lifted aromatics of tropical fruits combined with the
traditional nettle and herbaceous aromas of Marlborough Sauvignon
Blanc.
Palate: Firm acidity is surrounded by tropical fruits and
herbaceous notes with hints of citrus sneaking in. A whopping mouthful
of Marlborough.more
