Greetings From CT Wine Authority! This week's featured wines are from the booming wine regions
of Argentina. The country is now the world's 5th largest wine producer
and the export share is the fastest growing wine market in the world.
Argentinian wines are dominating wine headlines everywhere and for good
reason. The soil and climate are ideal for wine production, not to
mention that the U.S. dollar buys 30-40 times more vineyard land in
Argentina than in Napa Valley, California. Wine makers are able to
produce high quality wines at very reasonable prices, perfect bargains
for today's economically minded consumer.Los Ailos Syrah/Malbec is a fantastic red blend from the San
Juan region of Argentina. San Juan is the second largest wine producing
region in Argentina (behind Mendoza) as of 2003. The Syrah/Malbec
blend is different from the typical single varietal Malbecs for which
the country is famous. As a result of the Syrah blend expect more fruitiness,
richness, and a softer finish. Terra
Libre Fume Blanc (synonymous with Sauvignon Blanc) is from the famed
Mendoza region of Argentina. This region is situated at the foothills
of the Andes and the vineyards are among the coolest in Mendoza. The
grapes for this fantastic white wine are harvested by hand, crushed and
only the juice is cool fermented. Once finished, the wine is cleaned to
retain the fruit and acid freshness.Be sure to join us
this Saturday at either of our locations for a chance to partake in our
wine tasting of this week's featured wines. Salud!interactive

Terra
Libre Fume Blanc 2009 750ML
sku: 13388
Fruity and pungent on the nose. The onset is
crisp and clean followed by blossoming citrus fruit. The flavors are
full and overwhelmingly positive as they unfold finishing with lively
acidity and a bright, long, long finish.
Review: This wine is
floral enough that one suspects some Torrontes, Argentina's exotic white
variety, is blended in. Whatever it is, it's good by itself and would
be a nice partner for lighter seafood dishes or spicy stir-fries. - The
