We are
pleased to feature two new exciting French wines. After a recent
tasting we knew these exceptionally valued wines would be a perfect
addition to our inventory and we think you'll agree with our palates!
Of course we welcome our customers to stop by either of our locations
this Saturday for a free sample so you can judge for yourself.
Saint
Cosme "Little James' Basket Press" Vin de Table
is a non-vintage red wine comprised of 100% Grenache. Grenache is the
main grape in many Rhone blends, most Cotes du Rhone and
Chateaunuef-du-Pape. This wine is bottled unfiltered and sold as a
non-vintage wine due to the blending of wines from different origins
prior to bottling. The
grapes for this wine come from the Rhone region and other areas in
southern France therefore making it a table wine with a heavy emphasis
on Southern Rhone quality. Winemaker Louis Barruol is known for his
Chateauneuf-du-Pape and the Gigondas made in his home town. He enjoys the freedom
of making a 100% Grenache outside any appellation's restrictive
regulations. This quality French red would be a great addition to any
table at the affordable price of $11.99/bottle.
André-Michel Brégeon 2008 Muscadet de Sevre et Maine Sur Lie is
a terrific white from the Loire Valley of France. Muscadet originates
from the grape Melon de Bourgogne and is
a classic seafood wine that pairs best with oysters. It's no
coincidence that Muscadet is a classic seafood wine, as it's grown and
made in the Nantais region, where the Loire River runs into the cold
Atlantic. We think this French white is an exceptional find at
$14.99/bottle and a perfect pairing for your next seafood dinner.

At Saint Cosme, Little James is the wine of
freedom. Unlike a vintage wine, it's a permanent creation of a solera
which gets more and more complex every year with irresistible crunchy
fruit.
The spirit of this wine is to be very
simple, uncomplicated and inexpensive, but to give a great deal of
pleasure. The wine is very spicy, with loads of sweet fruit and
liquorice, and is perfect with simple meals.more

Domaine Michel Bregeon Muscadet 2008 750ML

A very special style of wine, which can be sweet
or dry, further complexity is bestowed on the wine through the sur lie
method. The wine is not filtered while being aged and the residue left
in the aging cask adds both body and creaminess to the wine.
Tasting
Notes: Complex nose with citrusy hints, medium body with smooth
viscosity complemented by citrus fruit flavors and mineral notes. Creamy
and honeyed but a crisp, dryer style with good acidity and a long
finish.
