The wine is full bodied and lustrous ruby red. Its enticing aroma is a bouquet of ripe red and black fruits mingling with tar and menthol undertone, exquisitely balanced by wood notes evoking vanilla and toast. Aged for 12 months in French oak barrels, in the mouth, its vigorous flavor, ripe tannins and majestic body conclude in a complex and persistent finish.
Wine Spectator: Very solid for the vintage, with crushed plum, fig and black current fruit nicely woven with maduro tobacco and bittersweet cocoa notes. There's a loam edge on the finish, but this stays solidly fleshy through the end. Drink now through 2013. 73,300 cases made.

Santa Rita is broadly recognized as an international ambassador for world class Chilean wines. Since our foundation in 1880, Santa Rita has focused on crafting superb quality wines becoming one of Chile's most admired, traditional and innovative wine estates.

Our Medalla Real Cabernet Sauvignon is crafted from a single estate in Alto Jahuel, located in Chile's famous Maipo Valley, one of the finest wine producing regions in the world.

Review
Wine Spectator: Ripe and concentrated, with a broad swath of macerated currant, fig paste, espresso, loam and black licorice notes all carried by dense but integrated tannins. The finish lets sage and mint notes chime in. Best from 2010 through 2012. 40,000 cases made. -JM
