Crafted in a lighter style than your typical Shiraz, this fresh, fruity, semisweet wine displays aromas and flavors of ripe blueberries, blackberries and raspberries with dark
chocolate undertones. Refreshing and approachable with the perfect balance between sweetness and acidity
Vinous 87 points - (12.5% alcohol, with 60 grams per liter r.s.): Good bright, full red. Blackberry and dark chocolate on the nose. Very sweet and candied but with good acidity and life to its black cherry and dark berry fruit. I’m not a fan of sweet Shiraz, so I’d be tempted to combine this with club soda and add a twist of lime.
Jam Jar Sweet Shiraz was born out of the realization that there are not a lot of options available to consumers seeking quality sweet red wine. This fresh, fruity, semi-sweet Shiraz aims to fill that void. Most of the grapes are grown in Paarl, a region with a Rhone-like climate that is ideal for Shiraz cultivation, and production is overseen by critically acclaimed winemaker Bruwer Raats.
