Domaine Serge Lalou is family run by siblings Frank and Christine, the second generation continuing the work begun by their father, Serge, in the 60's. It is a vineyard of 21 hectares, located mainly in the town of Thauvenay, 5 km from Sancerre. 16 hectares are planted with Sauvignon which give birth to white Sancerre. The remaining five acres are planted with Pinot Noir, for the Sancerre rose and red.

The "Caillottes" vineyard plot is particularly stony and calcareous. Located mid-slope, they promote faster maturation of the grapes.

The wines from these vineyards develop floral and black fruits (blackcurrant in particular). Approachable, they willingly allow themselves to be drunk young.

The clay and siliceous soils are located at the top of the hills. They give the wine some mineral notes, like flint. Harsh in their early youth, it is best to wait a bit to let us unveil their spicy aromas.
