Robert Parker: The 2009 Cotes du Rhone-Villages exhibits lots of kirsch, garrigue, lavender and pepper notes as well as a big, full-bodied, dense, quintessentially Provencal style. It should drink well for 5-6 years.
Beautiful black, thick, deep color. The nose has notes of roasted coffee, coffee mixed with notes of black fruit, dried figs and spicy notes of black pepper, licorice and cinnamon.
The palate is dense and meaty. There is a lot of fat sweetness, fine tannins, elegant and extremely persistent in the finish.
