Robert Parker: Dark cherries, plums, cloves and flowers literally explode from the glass in the 2010 Zinfandel Temptation. One of the darker wines in this entry-level range of Zinfandels, the 2010 is long on personality. It should drink well for at least the next few years. Anticipated maturity: 2013-2016.
The Alexander Valley zinfandel adds elegant red fruit with raspberry and strawberry flavors, Dry Creek zin brings structure and black fruit, while Solano County zin adds just the right touch of ripe, jammy flavors. The Sangiovese brightens the blend with a touch of acidity and strawberry notes. The 2010 includes 10% Petite Sirah, adding inky dark color and broadening the mid pallet of this subtle zin.
