Light gold in color, Brut Premier boasts a smooth, full mouth. This elegant champagne is a delicate balance of fruit
and acidity, an outstanding example of the Roederer tradition of producing wines of lean, firm structure with discreet
fruit and subtle toast flavors.
Wine Spectator 91 points - Light and lively, featuring apple, toast, ginger and light vanilla flavors. Balanced and on the dry side, with a creamy texture and a lingering butter pastry aftertaste. Drink now through 2011. 42,000 cases imported. –BS
The #95 in Wine Spectator's 2009 Top 100
Wine Advocate 92 points - The NV Brut Premier is a pretty, perfumed offering redolent of pears, greens apples and flowers. This medium-bodied, refined NV Champagne offers excellent length and a crisp, refreshing finish with notes of sweetness that linger on the close. The Brut Premier is unique among the estate’s wines in that it contains 20% Pinot Meunier in addition to the Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. Roughly 30-40% of this wine undergoes malolactic fermentation. This is Lot: L 030946A104787, disgorged February 26th 2008. Anticipated maturity: 2008-2010.
Delicate and elegant. Its reserve wines bring rich round flavors that make it vibrant, fresh and
generous.

| Wine Spectator: Firm and finely meshed, with hints of passion fruit and pineapple mixing with poached apple, almond pastry and fleur de sel. Mouthwatering and lightly smoky on the lingering, refined finish. Drink now through 2017. 40,000 cases imported.
Robert Parker: The NV Brut Premier is a gorgeous wine that stands head and shoulders above the vast majority of wines in its price range. Apparently, it is quite possible to make great Champagne that doesn’t cost a small fortune. Ripe pears, smoke, spices, dried flowers and herbs are some of the many nuances that emerge from the glass. The Brut Premier shows lovely mid-palate depth and fabulous overall balance.
Wine Enthusiast: 92 Points - This Roederer non-vintage seems to be getting drier, bringing out more of the green fruits and less creamy character. It works well here because the wine has some bottle age, giving a beautifully balanced wine that has great class and elegance.
Stephen Tanzer: 90 Points - Bright yellow with a strong mousse. Fresh lemon and lime zest on the nose, plus a hint of white pepper adding energy. Tightly wound and focused, with energetic citrus and orchard fruit flavors underscored by dusty minerals. Nicely balanced and pure, with very good finishing citric bite and persistence. This leads more with finesse than with power today, which suits me fine.

| Wine maker notes |
| Brut Premier is a blend of vintage wines, enhanced by the addition of 10% to 20% oak-aged wines from Roederer’s
extensive reserve cellars. Grapes are used from only the finest crus with a rating of 98 or more on Champagne’s
regional rating scale — Pinot Noir from the Valley of the Marne and Montagne de Reims; Chardonnay from the
Côte des Blancs. Roederer uses only the first pressings from these exceptional grapes for the standard-bearing Brut
Premier. Finished wine is cellar-aged for an additional four years before release. |
