Nice pale rose colour with tiny bubbles. Strong red fruit aromas on the nose On the palate, fruit is dominant too with vivacity and a hint of acidity. Supple and round.
The balance between the dominant Pinot Noir and the smaller percentage Chardonnay gives this wine its beautiful pale rose colour and its delicate notes of red fruits, strawberries, raspberries, wild strawberries and black currants.
OTH 90 points - Orange-pink. Bright, mineral-driven aromas of blood orange, lemon and green apple, with notes of chalk and quinine adding vivacity. Firm and tightly wound, offering zesty citrus and orchard fruit flavors and a kiss of bitter redcurrant. Closes with dominant citrus flavors, very good clarity and lingering florality. -Josh Reynolds (Dec1 2010)
Wine Spectator 92 points - Very fragrant, boasting rose, violet, red berry and peach aromas and flavors. Opulent, even creamy, with underlying acidity that freshens the finish and a subtle aftertaste of fruit and spice. Drink now through 2012. –BS (Nov 30 2009)
Wine Enthusiast 91 points - This is one of the most delicious rosé Champagnes around, a gorgeous vibrant red currant- and pink grapefruit-dominated wine. It’s ripe, but so well balanced, its acidity merging into a fine creaminess. It is a wine that is lively, vivid, but remaining dry. — R.V. (Jul /200)
