This wine features beautiful pale yellow colour with golden highlights. A lively, aromatic nose with predominant notes of white fruit and spices is underpinned by a subtle touch of oak and vanilla. Mineral on the palate with a good balance between acidity and roundness. Lovely length.
This appellation from southern Burgundy is located in the Maconnais region around the villages of Fuisse, Solutre,
Pouilly, Vergisson and Chaintre. Calcic brown soil and limestone overlie Lias marls on the lower south and east facing slopes of the rocky spurs of Solutre and Vergisson. These terroirs yield gorgeous white wines that often require a few years of ageing before reaching their full potential.
|This wine is a good match for all kinds of fish, especially freshwater fish, seafood, and white meats in sauce. Try it with a filet of trout with almonds, salmon cooked en papillote or blanquette of veal. Finish the meal with an assortment of goat’s cheeses.
