Wine Advocate 88 points - Museum?s 2008 Crianza is 100% Tempranillo aged 14 months in French and American oak. It gives up a pleasing perfume of smoke, Asian spices, leather, mineral, and blackberry leading to a wine with an elegant personality, a firm structure, incipient complexity, and a lengthy finish. Give it 1-2 years of additional cellaring and drink it from 2013 to 2018. (Jun 2011)

Wine maker notes
The wine is elaborated with grapes coming partly from our own vineyards surrounding the winery (planted in 1999) and others up to 50 years of age. The vineyards are planted in poor soils, many with thick layers of pebbles, under which clay, sand and chalk may be found at more than 740m asl. These vineyards occupy the high hills of the Pisuerga river valley, with an extreme continental climate, long and cold winters, late spring frosts and summers with marked contrasts between day and night temperatures. Local viticulture has always been sustainable, respectful to the environment, without chemical fertilisers and a good use of the vegetation so that the fruit ripening is optimal. All our vineyards are hand harvested, and the result of all the above is healthy, ripe grapes with a high aromatic concentration.
