Our Nuits-Saint-Georges is beautiful a ruby red with raspberry coloured highlights. The nose opens up to aromas of forest undergrowth and mushroom as well as notes of red fruit. On the palate, this delicately oaked wine features notes of gingerbread and cherry with harmonious balance. The finish is long and intensely aromatic, evocative of red fruit and spices.
The Nuits-Saint-Georges AOC stretches across 2 villages: Nuits-Saint-Georges and Premeaux-Prissey, in the direction of Beaune. Nuits-Saint-Georges, which gave the Cote de Nuits its name, is almost exclusively devoted to the production of red Pinot Noir wines. The Nuits-Saint-Georges ”village” area of appellation covers 163.5 ha in the village of Nuits and 11.8 ha in Premeaux-Prisse. The surface area of the Nuits-Saint-Georges Premier Cru or Nuits Premier Cru appellation totals 100.5 ha in Nuits, and 42.2 ha in Premeaux-Prissey. Variations in exposure to the sun and in soil types between the vineyards, located to the south and north of Nuits-Saint-Georges yield considerably diverse wines. The brown limestone soils overlie Jurassic limestone slopes.
|This Nuits-Saint-Georges is the perfect match for all red meats, stews, marinated game and full-flavoured cheeses. Try it with duck breast, artichoke mousse or a roast of pork with herbs. As for cheese, pair it with Époisses or hard goat’s cheese.
