Our Languedoc Blanc is a blend of two southern varietals which complement each other: Piquepoul Blanc and Roussanne. Bordering the Etang de Thau, they have the benefit of relatively cool terroirs on which vines “stare” at the sea. This mild maritime influence, throughout the summer, enables to preserve acidity in the fruits. Both varietals being late ripening grapes, they fit the Mediterranean climatic conditions. They allow the aromatic flavors preservation until the harvest at the end of September or early October for some Piquepoul.
The Piquepoul Blanc brings this crunchy and vivid character, which, blended with the Roussanne citrus fruits and white flowers notes, complete perfectly the aromatic pallet and give us a delightful volume in mouth. Perfect for aperitif between friends, our Languedoc Blanc will accompany tapas, seashells, and fish from the very close Mediterranean Sea.
The Negociant Eleveur Maison Hecht & Bannier, specializing in red wines from the South of France, came to light in 2002. Our goal is to have our wines become the reference for quality in the region with a unique range of appellation wines.
We are convinced that from Roussillon to Provence, the most talented vineyard in France, has not yet received the international recognition that it deserves: our wines allow wine-lovers to discover the extraordinary quality and wealth of our region.
To conserve the typical Mediterranean strength in our wines while preserving balance and crispness, is our mantra for all the appellations we produce.
The cornerstone of our profession is our extensive knowledge of vineyards and cellars. Every year we visit hundreds of producers to select only the best wines. Often, our wines come from vineyards in the cooler foothills where it isn’t rare to see hundred-year-old vines. Once the long selection process has come to an end, we organize tastings to create the blends and decide on our elevage options.
