Wine Spectator 89 points - Minerally-tasting, with slate, white pepper and flint notes accenting the dried berry and red currant flavors. Dried savory herb and lavender notes fill the taut finish. Malbec, Cabernet Franc and Syrah. Drink now through 2018. 450 cases imported.-KM  (Jun 15 2015)

Vinous 89 points - (15.8% alcohol; 67% malbec, 26% cabernet franc and 7% syrah): Good full medium red. Deep nose offers scents of blackberry, blueberry, mint, graphite minerality, dark chocolate and mocha. Suave, sweet and concentrated, with black raspberry and mocha flavors complemented by spicy oak. Large-scaled, lush and satisfying, with obviously elevated alcohol, but has just enough acidity to maintain its shape. Finishes with substantial fine-grained tannins and a lingering note of redcurrant.  (Mar 2014)
Pedro Angulo and Angel Innocenti were winegrowers in their native Europe – Pedro in the Basque country and Angel in Tuscany. They immigrated to Argentina in the late 19th century and through hard work and perseverance found great success in their commercial activities. Today the Angulo and Innocenti families have rekindled their immigrant winemaking roots. Alejandro Angulo and Mariano Innocenti, 3rd and 4th generation family members respectively, have decided to celebrate Pedro and Angel’s vintner past with the development of a unique terroir in La Consulta.
