The Benvolio Rosso vineyard sites are located in the
province of Siena between the communes of Berardenga
and San Gusme. The fruit is sourced from 63 blocks planted on a wide range of soil types. From alluvial and clay, to sand and Galestro (Tuscan word for decomposed sandstone). The grapes are cold soaked for 2-3 days for optimal color and flavor extraction, fermented in stainless steel tanks and aged in neutral French barriques for 10 months.
Nicolas Francois cuvees result from a selection by Gratien and Meyer’s cellar master, Nicolas Francois. Considering it like a designer label, the cepage is considered to be a ”fabrication secret” of the cellar master. Freshness and aromatic expression are the hallmarks of the Nicolas Francois line. Nicolas’s meticulous selection and careful supervision provide a guarantee of quality and elegance in every bottle.
