Buy Albert Bichot Pommard Premier Cru Les Rugiens Domaine du Pavillon
Our Pommard 1er Cru Les Rugiens has a beautiful deep ruby red colour with raspberry nuances. The nose is fine yet powerful with a dominant of red fruits followed by a very well-blended smoky oak. Lovely persistence, this wine has density and racy tannins.

Pommard is one of the most famous appellations of the Cote de Beaune and is known for its red wines. The brownish-red soil, rich in hard limestone from the foothills produces some of the most tannic and robust wines in Burgundy. Indeed, they are more powerful than their Beaune neighbours and it is often said that these are ’masculine’ wines. The Les Rugiens premier Cru is situated at the south of the commune. The dominating red colour of the soil may be the origin of the name of this vineyard plot (”rouge” = red in French).
Food pairing
Ideal for accompanying finely-prepared tender red meat dishes, feathered game and dishes cooked in wine sauce. This Pommard 1er Cru Clos Micault will perfectly match veal cutlets with shallots, a partridge terrine, venison cooked in red wine or a roast suckling boar cooked in port. Also suitable for a wide range of cheeses, from Epoisses and Livarot to Pont L’Eveque. Serving and keeping Serve at 17C (62F) Keep 5 to 7 years or more in a cellar.
